We made a new invention on today’s adventure. I call, “The Fork Fit for a Giant”. We tried to use this fork to offer food to the rats. The rats are, of course, the civilization that lives in the Rat Tree. The rat gods decide everyone fate at the high school. Freshmen year someone threw a water bottle up the tree, and it never came down. We were afraid that a kid was going to get pulled up there, and then their bloody limbs would come down. But the rat gods showed us they were benevolent rulers, for one day they bestowed upon us a magical golden orb. It was wonderful, we had such fun times with the orb. But one day, someone accidentally broke the boon we had found in the tree, and the rats have been silent ever since. Today we tried to give them food with this stick, to better improve relations. But the rats were silent when we tried to communicate with them. We were honestly hoping they would return the water bottle after two years, but no such luck. Later, after we all parted ways from lunch, the tree shook with a fury in a gust of wind that the rats sent to us, as a warning. Now I know they are angry, and we have once again become worried, for they could kill us at any time if they are not satisfied, or they are merely wanting some entertainment.
