36" Introducing the highly anticipated Ratmobile DH deck, Bustin's first ever dedicated top mount downhill longboard. The top mount deck is the most basic of all longboard designs so we had to pay extra close attention to every detail to make sure it stood apart from the crowd. If you are on the race circuit, you know that our pro riders have been racing some version of this board all year long. The final deck you see here is the result of extensive feedback from these riders and anyone else who has stepped on the board since we started this project. At last, the production version is an incredibly versatile top mount deck with a slight rocker and a perfect 5/8-inch concave that cups your feet better than your lap cups your girl's butt while your spooning on the couch. Yeah, its that good. To boot, we added loads of wheelbase options for every race and freeride style there is, engineered massive CNC'd wheel wells for proper clearance all-around and encased it all into a high quality, lightweight, 8-ply maple layup. All we can say is that we love it, our riders love it, batman loves it, but you'll have to try it for yourself to really feel the magic.

DESIGN The Ratmobile is 36 inches long, sporting a gentle, comforting rocker throughout the deck. Concave is designed to be perfectly comfortable at speed while locking in the feet hard when sideways in freeride stance. The concave is 5/8" progressive radial at the widest point of the deck, which is near the front, right where your foot goes, to provide maximum leverage over the front truck where you need it. Rails on this deck are razor sharp and will provide ample grip when the board goes sideways. The massive wheel wells are large enough to provide clearance on most any setup and have been tested with 124mm up to 190mm trucks with equally awesome results. Wheelbases range from a small 24.5 inches up to 28 inches, large enough for stability on any race course and small enough to grip any corner. You will never get tired of tinkering with this deck!

CONSTRUCTION The construction of the Ratmobile is 8 plies of stiff Great Lakes maple, differing slightly from our typical Canadian Maple on our other decks. The end result is more stiffness with less wood. There is a slight torsional flex on this deck with little to no flex along the length of the deck. This was ultimately at the request of our top racers, who wanted a light weight deck that was race ready. The ever so slight torsional flex keeps all 4 wheels on the ground with very little loss in leverage from the front to the rear of the deck. A custom-built router bit run along the bottom edge of the deck reduces unnecessary wood from the board, further reducing weight and giving this deck an ultra sharp, speedy look.

SETUPS Set this deck up with whatever feels good. Top mount decks are more prone to wheel bite, and though the Ratmobile sports some monstrous wheel wells, you'll want to set it up with whatever gives you peace as far as bite is concerned. Quarter inch risers and most 50 degree trucks will be bite free with 70mm wheels. Careful bushing and washer selection will always play a large role in deck performance. Our racers prefer 75mm Royce wheels and skate anything from Caliber 44s and 50s to Ronins and Aera trucks."
