satisficing == accepting first answer meeting minimum condition
A portmanteau of satisfy and suffice coined by economist Herbert A. Simon. It suggests that in the absence of proper domain knowledge a floor of acceptability be established and the first answer, no matter how apparently strange, to satisfy that floor condition be accepted. Simon was apparently a critic of then-current (1940s) rational agent models of homo oeconomicus.
