On site analysis there are various material and activity occurring around site which being map out as a material for design the intervention later on.

Tuk-Tuk intervention

The way to make people on site consider about the environment is to taught them how to cleanse them. So the new protocol have been emerge as a workshop cart make out of dissemble Tuk-Tuk cart. The workshop cart separated into 4 part allow people on site to interact with.

Strategy and incremental quality

Ratchaprarob district is being look after by the organization of Dindaeng department. So the protocol from previous phase have been speculate to be use by the organization roaming around site to beautify the public space according to the interview of people in the organization there is a competition inside the organization to improve the public space which the winner district will get a raise salary along with fame as a sample district for the other district to follow.

Construction and detail

The materials are mostly could be obtain from the second hand shop around the site the program located on a top  of the river which was distributed into 4 parts and people have freely access to these space.

Typology of the machine

Start small from the small intervention first then the size and machine start to being implement more and more over time become a deposition of temporary intervention inside the site.

Rachaparop is a residential area that lies underneath highways and by that, activities of people in the area are relating to the shade and light of the highway. 

Looking into a ritual and daily routine of locals, most people go to work with long sleeves shirt and some are wearing showing how aware of sunlight they are. Showing the sensitivity to light that they have.

So if the shading from the highway boose some activity that needs shade are their space or some infrastructure that can also do that?

Rachaparop has a lot of abandoned billboards and these billboards do cast shadows and lights some of them are broken but the shading turns out to be very interesting.

According to research on Rachaparop’s billboards and advertisement sign, there are 5 billboards that the shadow that they are casting can create space.

There are 3 of them that I choose according to the surrounding program and the relating issue. (Probe1,Probe2,Probe3)

 The design strategy is that there will still be an advertisement sign above to create income to the brand investor that were gamed to operate the billboards (horizontally and vertically) and below are some regulations that they should be following.

The first example <probe1> Plantation Space

The left of the space is residential area but on the right, it’s a parking lot for government trash cars which the issue here is mostly the bad smell and bad air pollution. The billboards itself helps the community by using plants as a filter to clean air and by that light and water is very important for plants so the material for the advertisement sign is a fog catcher which will give some water storing above and use it when needed. Space can also be used as a resting space.

The second example <probe2> The Market Space

The surrounding area is full of offices there are some street vendors wandering around but no certain space of where they would be on each day, the billboard here is providing a market space where people can come and sell their stuff and below is how it works.

The last one <probe3> The laundry space.

The surrounding space include various laundry shops, vending washing machines so around the space there are many clothing rack that re full of clothes, some are too full that they hang their clothes on the public fence owned by the highway organization. The issue here is that sometimes the shading of the highway gets in the way and block some light but the device will change that.
