given the canon that all god exist if we believe in them and ergo all entities exist if we believe in them, one can infer that angels and demons do exist in the american gods universe as people believe in them. furthermore, the appearance of jesus(s) implies the existence of god and all the heavenly angels which also implies the existence of lucifer and all of the demonic creatures that serve them within the american gods universe. so, given that, in all likelihood, angels and demons exist within american gods, allow me to bring up my first point:

CHRISTIAN ENTITIES ARE NEW GODS. they are not old gods. they are not old made new. they are new gods. new gods. say it with me. NEW GODS. the takeover of old altars and temples by christians after/during the fall of rome is proof enough of their status as new gods. every time i see a ‘the christian gods are old made new’ take or some shit i get like 50 grey hairs it’s just such a pet peeve of mine. anyway. the jesuses were also at ostara’s party, so. new gods.

media isn’t a fan of angels. they find them too goody two shoes and too obsessed with paperwork. they like paperwork, mind you. and they like order (to a degree) but the fucking dot all your is and cross all your ts -- it irritates them. world probably likes that stickler attitude but media??? media??? our local chaos entity??? our god of mass hysteria???? they fucking hate it. they try not to deal with angels beyond stare downs and don’t submit to the idea that god is above them or world. hell, heaven’s probably an entire separate department -- they’re part of the new gods pantheon, but in a league of their own, if you will. same goes for demons. demons?? however? media loves them. media loves ugly, nasty things. they like creatures that cause panics. media loves, loves, loves to see themselves in these creatures. we like to see ourselves in media. media likes to see themselves in us and others. with that comes that same warm possessive feeling they associate with all entities and persons they find themselves in. they get along with them more than they ever get along with the angelic army. media can pal around with demons. media can be obnoxious with demons. so long as no one snubs, disrespects or meddles with media, they’ll get along with them just fine.

   Truthfully, she really didn’t care for these ANGELS showing up on her doorstep; acting like they had any sort of say in what she did or didn’t do. It had been happening a bit more frequently lately, and they were LUCKY she felt sentimental about them.

“Brother, I fear for Michael. I wonder if he is worrying too much about the final battle that is soon to come with Lucifer.”

Her eyes cast to the ground, staring at the light that trickled between its cloudy tresses. Her two powerful wings beat heavily in the wind, like those of a dove.

𝐒𝐇𝐄  𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒  𝐇𝐄𝐑  𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐀𝐓 .     nerves  get  sticky  there ,  LIKE GUNK  in  old  pipes .   and  he  does  make  her  nervous  ------   although  that’s  not  saying  MUCH .       ❝     i ,  uh  ...   wouldn’t  BLAME  you ,  if  you  hadn't  heard  of  this  place  before .   nothin'  much  ever  happens  in  FORKS .     ❞       ha !     that  was  an  understatement .     a  lifetime  of  DULL  summers  spent  with  her  father  had  bella   WELL CONVINCED   that  nothing  out  of  the  ordinary  had  ever  taken  place  in  their  town's  entire  short   albiet rainy   history .  a  well  worn  pitstop ,  in  america's  BACK END .

it’s almost a sixth sense at this point . he’s been around the supernatural so long it almost feels like home . pine hues rise to the figure , trying to take in everything before the moment drops and something happens . because something’s going to happen - isn’t it? why else would things be different than normal .
