@ Rastacutie; Can the same thing go for legs that hyperextend? Cause my knees do that and I went to physical therapy but it’s still a problem in my ballet class. It hurts really bad and I either can’t get it straight or it hyperextendes and locks.
If you have pain, you need to continue to see a PT. While hyperextension is favored in ballet, it is important to avoid that locked position. Locking your legs will cause knee problems and pain. Hyperextended legs tend to be flexible but not strong. You need to work (with a teacher or PT) to get the strength to have you leg as straight as possible.
*Important* I am not a doctor, any pain should be looked at by a trained doctor or physical therapist.Â
