to me many instances of “this wrestling move looks gay” is only scratching the surface…missing the forest for the trees…you have your face planted in your opponent’s crotch with his body upside down against yours trusting each other fully + moving together as if you’re trying to become one single entity. Dick In Face is only part of this, you’re entering this position that would otherwise be unacceptably intimate because what you are trying to accomplish is in itself very intimate. in the ideal state of a wrestling match you are moving as a unit to protect each other’s and your own body while tricking an external audience into believing you’re hurting each other (more than you actually are). the act of wrestling is “gay sex” but as shorthand for “process of getting so close to someone that you can’t tell where your body begins and theirs ends”. it’s more like a kind of sadomasochist acrobat marriage.
