WHAT WAS I THINKING?! 🤔 . Obviously, at this point, I was considering getting sponsor correct logo shots of the products I’m testing. But seriously, cycling is the ultimate way for me to clear my mind. As someone with intense ADD, focusing on the moment of cycling and everything that entails is relaxing for my brain. I sometimes think through life’s issues whilst pedaling, but more often I find myself escaping from them. Guess it allows my brain some time to regroup and recharge because the moment I stop everything kicks back in again. . I’m a notoriously solo cyclist. My ADD is the single largest contributor to this. The moment I’m linked to anyone else, I begin to process my interactions with them. Am I going to fast? Am I going to slow? Am I giving them room? Am I riding straight enough? Am I talking enough? Am I talking too much? Am I talking too loud? Can they hear me? If your first reaction is, “Relax, you don’t need to worry about all that, just enjoy the ride.” Remember, my brain isn’t wired the same as yours and my experience is *vastly* different. This simply is what my brain does, no matter the situation. . Yes, it *is* exhausting. I’m trying to get better at it, but I also value that brain relaxation time because this is my brain 24/7/365. . So, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?! I’m interested to find out what goes through your mind when you ride? Are you working through things in life? Are you focusing on your current training plan? Or, like me, is it an escape?
