basically, after wanting a perm for literally 13+ years (basically ever since i found out it was actually a *thing i could do*, cos otherwise it would have been pretty much a lifelong dream bc i’ve always been absolutely IN LOVE with curly hair!) i have fiiiiiinalllllllyyyyyy decided i’m actually gona do it! but as someone who has literally never ever ever not even once for a little trim or anything at all been to an actual hairdresser before, what do i need to know?? does anyone have any perm experience? any advice? any tips for picking a good place? any general hairdressing things i should know??

idk man. it’s scary bc i’m very averse to change (which is p much why it’s taken me so long to *actually* psyche myself up LOL), but it would just make my life so much EASIER to just wake up and *have* the curly hair instead of having to constantly style my very-much-NOT-curly hair to make it so. yknow? people always say i look nicest with my hair down, and i do kindof agree, but i so rarely actually do because my natural straight hair does *not* work for me! so i only have it down if it’s curly, and it’s just such a ball ache to successfully achieve and impractical to do so regularly! sooooo 💭 the time has come. if not now then when, yknow? and i just recently also realised that even if it’s bad & i hate it then it literally won’t even change that much, bc i can still just keep it in a bun all the time & hide it until it grows out lol 🤷🏻‍♀️ yknow??? so it’s FINE! but i obv don’t want to set myself up for it to be bad, so any advice at all is v v v appreciated 🫶🏼🫶🏼 ty!!

for reference, i have very straight, very fine hair, i’ve never dyed it or anythingggggg, and i’m kinda thinking i wana go for a 2C or 3A type??? do we think that’s ok?? like… ??? idek what to ask tbh, but just lmk thoughts pls if u can 🙏🏼
