*Aslaug and Sieg are silent in the background*
I like that these scenes are back to back lmao. Some meta joke going on or something
Most unrealistic part of the J-drama Gokusen S1 is how nobody in class 3-D seems to realize that yes, there is someone in the class who has a crush on Yankumi and that is Shin. Because for all his poker face, he watches her scolding the class the entire time like THIS.
(Whereas in the manga, Noda notices halfway through the story, which leads Shin admitting it to his friends. And Kyo-san, Shirokin High staff, and even school rivals know. Even literal neighborhood dogs know.)
I love the team who was in charge of the character costume design and make-up for J-Drama Gokusen S1. I know they took a lot of liberty adapting the manga, but their particular choices is just impeccable and helps to give more depths for each character.
Kumiko without pigtails and glasses obviously looks fitting as the granddaughter of a yakuza clan. But even when she wears pigtails or messy cute ponytails, as long as it is within her house, she actually retains that yakuza ojou aura very much.
Shin's hair. Instead of going for the signature all-red hair like the manga, they opted for black/dark brown hair with golden highlights. It looks very classy and not tacky. Same with how he dresses in and out of school. All his attires make him look well-off with an inherently good taste for a delinquent high schooler. Which is revealed to be the case after all.
Ucchi's hairdo(s). He changes hairstyles almost in every episode. There was a scene of him actually taking time to style his hair in the mirror, so it's obvious that he pays attention to his hair and that's his hobby.
Kuma never wears black undershirt, except for the one time in Ep11 when he's at the lowest time of his life.
Noda almost always wears colorful scarfs and has a cute duck keychain hanging from his gakuran jacket pocket. It's not surprising to hear he wants to to fashion art college later.
Minami is pretty plain in comparison to all of them, but he sometimes wear sweater underneath his gakuran jacket. It makes him look neater than the average delinquents. And there is the saying of "less is more." Given that he's always fooling with girls and actually has a good face and jovial personality as an asset, perhaps that simple look actually helps his quest for girls.
Fujiwara's preference for stylish, girlish mini outfits and Kawashima's penchant for loud patterns with eyecatching colors really distinguish them against the plain, practical attires that Kumiko usually wears. It's also highlighted when they go shopping together.
The other extra 3-D students also have different looks. From the twin green guys, guy with signature JP delinquent mullet hairstyle, to the monk-looking guy who wears geta to school (and whose mom in the parent-student meeting also wears kimono).

Klein meeting Leonard: Hello, Leonard
Klein post-Clown, not meeting Leonard: What's up with my dear poet. May you be blessed, my dear poet. Right, my dear poet. My dear poet. My dear poet.
Wind Breaker manga spoilers ch 189
When I read Momijikawa saying "What's an outsider doing here?" to Sakura, it was me who wanted to punch his face. I was being quite emotional, yes, but I really don't like that word said to Sakura, given everything that has happened. But Sakura can answer to such taunt calmly instead of blowing up like he'd do in earlier chapters. He didn't even strike Momijikawa first and just took his punch defensively. I wanted to cry lmao, my boy has grown up :')
Sakura just gives him a "Yeah, so?" look the entire time then cooly, without wavering, states his goal "to win my place on the top." I think it really showcases how his self-esteem has quite improved compared to when he first came to Furin. And that improvement comes from learning to trust other people, helping and being helped by them. In short, it comes from not being alone.
Earlier Sakura would've just started yelling and throwing punch to prove his point. His self-worth was abysmal, and he was cocky about his fighting capabilities because he literally didn't have anything else in his life. Now after letting other people into his life and learning that fighting is not all that he is worth of, he is not as loudly arrogant as he was. He is still pretty confident, maybe even remaining cocky, but that confidence is built upon something more solid and healthy.
I just love that the lone wolf fighting monster Momijikawa is a parallel to earlier Sakura. Or rather, he is like a what-if version of Sakura that didn't come to Furin—incredibly strong, but alone.
