Guys, can you take a moment of your time to help me understand a piece of Tumblr culture? Ā I can not wrap my head around the concept of liking things but not reblogging them. Ā I realize that there are different reasons people might like a post and not reblog it, but as someone who prefers hitting the reblog button (I reblog a LOT to my side blogs) over liking things, I just canāt wrap my head around this. Ā As an artist I rely on reblogs to help get my work seen, so when I upload and am met with a wall of likes and virtually no reblogs itās really frustrating. Ā Worst of all is that I have zero understanding as to why the piece is getting likes but no reblogs (thanks Tumblr, for your lack of sociability). Ā If nobody wants to share my art, that is fine.. but then Iāll be rethinking posting it here, considering how depressing it is to watch chicken scratch rack up 4058505-5 notes while artists go unseen because nobody wants to reblog art that is less known. Ā I can just slap my art on DA where I have a 25K+ following already, and roll in comments, faves, and views, though Iād prefer to leave DA behind and strictly post my work here... but I canāt rebuild a following here if nobody reblogs. Ā Popularity doesnāt happen without a hand from others. Ā So, if you guys can enlighten me to what I am doing wrong? Ā Perhaps also let me know if there is anything Iām doing right? What is a bad habit of yours, or what thing annoys you the most?
Hmm, Iām probably full of bad habits... I can explain OCD as bad habits, right? Ā That aside though, my worst habit is probably sleeping with the TV on.. or rather not sleeping if the TV is off. Ā I swear, weāre all fucked if I ever have to suffer through a long term power outage!Ā Things which annoy me the most are probably the times when people donāt live up to the standards I believe they should be living up to. Ā Yeah, I totally realize that I set myself up for this failure, but I want to believe that people are decent SOOO BADLY! Ā (Viewing people for what they are is insanely depressing)Anyway, in general I rage a fair bit when someone does something inconsiderate. Ā
What is the best time you have had in the last 4 months?
Who knows? Ā I have good times here and there of course, but I donāt like getting excited or giddy or super happy etc.. The ideal way to be is just calm because everything else ends up sucking long term. Ā So.. the good moments tend to just blend into the rest of everything else because they arenāt allowed to stand out, otherwise I will feel like shit after. Ā
