The second section of her crossed paths with Ochette was super interesting but also like wow, the game really is going out of its way to get at Castti and as someone who loves her, yes give me more of the suffering

With the revelations from Ori's journal though, and how Claude specifically mentioned her at first and how Ori reported on her after the events of her story, it got me thinking a bit more. It just seems weird that out of all the travelers, Castti is the traveler who seemed have to deal with direct exposure to the Shadow herself (Hikari was born with the cursed blood and has had to deal with it his whole life but he overcomes it at the end) So it makes me think that Vide's followers might have actually been aiming for Castti specifically in the Crossed Paths section because of her ability to cure the Shadow (whatever that means???? maybe that cure she made had the power to revert the people who got transformed back???) since you explicitly have to beat Castti's story in order to get the next Crossed Paths which means that has to canonically happen first and Ori begins to keep stronger tabs on her. The scarier thing though is that it weren't for Ochette, they would have most likely succeeded in corrupting Castti too (which might also play a small part in how they managed to get Trousseau to their side but it sounds like he just needed a nudge to fall in line with their nihilism)

tbh I just want to type this out somewhere because I was really hoping it would pan out this way and it uhhhh really didn't LOL

but finding out the claude was supposed to be a vessel for vide and then he just went and said no thanks and had a bunch of kids so he wouldn't have to do it just really made me think since throne's the one that ends up killing him, it sort of establishes that she's the perfect vessel (since he mentions she has a lot of potential)

and I thought the game was setting up something like that since throne's just all decked out in purple (it's most likely a reference to therion but when purple is the main bad color in octo2...) and her crossed paths with temenos shows that she's the one holding the mirror and I was thinking that the final confrontation was going to be something like vide coming out to force throne as its vessel since being one of claude's kids means she'd have both vide/d'arqest blood but something like the mirror would have repelled it back and then the team would have won throne back with the power of friendship/their bonds/whatever

and then it didn't play out like that..... it kind of feels like they were planning a little more for her tho but it didn't go anywhere, but I guess it would've made throne feel like a main main character
