so the motivation to do art lately has been 👎🏻

when i started this blog, it was intended to be a writing blog and then turned into an art blog and i've felt weird about just like, flipping the script and going back to a writing blog but i would like to do both. it's funny cause i write this like anyone will read it even though i know only a few people might but that's ok.

i have and have had a very interesting life that i would love to write about, which is literally why i created this blog in the first place so i would like to revisit that soon, along with posting my art as it gets created.

Super into modern AU’s and super into Earth in the Avatar universe. I would love to see more scenes set on it, just to really feel the desperation that’s driving humans to Pandora. I’m filling this need in my brain by making a modern human AU set on Avatar’s earth and the concept is turning out so messy and yet I’m like running through the hills with it in my mouth like a dog.

Compressing this franchises plot while maintaining all parts of it is impossible, at least for this AU, so naturally it loses the cool action, the stuff that gives people post avatar depression, etc. When you remove all this, keeping as much as you can and translating it (filling the gaps based on the AU) you get an unbelievably convoluted psychological drama. Like you’re somehow putting Quaritch’s entire internal conflict, that he refuses to recognize, back into a human body, in a different setting, and then you have to figure out what’s triggering that in him, then make it work. I am having so much fun bullshitting my way through this. I still have to find a way to keep all the deaths and it’s setting fire to the kitchen I’m attempting to cook in and the fish called “Contemporary Horror Elements” has jumped from the pan to slap me in the face.

guys i don't know how many of you follow international news, but pride festivals have just been banned by law in hungary, "in the name of protecting the development of children". i am DEVASTATED. i cannot believe this is the time i have to live in. if anyone takes part in an "illegal event", our faces can be identified and we can be fined. what the fuck??? i really, REALLY hope this won't last and they have to take it back because this not only restricts gay people, but EVERYONE. the right to assembly is a BASIC HUMAN RIGHT!

this is so paralysing and messed up. they are also apparently planning to ban pride flags from public buildings. man, i hate it here.

anyways, i just hope y'all are staying strong wherever you are. just know that being queer fucking rocks and you're cool and loved. stay safe.

not dnp related but my professor said my thesis idea was "perfectly academic" and now i'm even more hyped about it!! i may get that damn degree after all!! perhaps i am smarter than i think (i'm writing about john waters' films and reproductive futurism if anyone cared) he told me to be careful with it being 'too self-serving' but otherwise it's 'quite original' meaning nobody in my country cares about this stuff lol but i do!!
