I've never posted anything to this account that isn't in some way fashion related. But this is a cause that is very close to home right now and I want to make any difference I can. Cape Town is currently experiencing a severe drought with our dams at critical levels and only a few weeks of water left. We're facing major water restrictions and the possibility of living without water soon. Ever thought of living without water? Ever thought of all those that do? There is a way to make a difference though, together with @absolutelyx and @waterforpeople. You can give a weeks worth of water to those in need! Today, on World Water Day, I'm partnering with @WaterForPeople and @AbsolutElyx to bring attention to the billions of people who lack access to safe water. From today until April 22nd they will be donating 1 week of safe water for each post tagged with #RaiseItForward & @WaterForPeople and @AbsolutElyx. Water For People and Absolut Elyx are joining forces on a 5-year mission to bring access to safe water to over 100,000 people worldwide. So far they have raised over $500,000 (whoa!) that helps 15,000 people and now they could use your help. 1.8 billion people around the world don't have access to safe water and 2.4 billion lack access to adequate sanitation. Women and children spend more than 4 hours walking for water each day, and more than 840,000 people die each year from water-related diseases.
