My beautiful Raindirk series III. Used to live at Olympic studios in London, mixed albums by Queen, Bowie, Pink Floyd and more! She is a gorgeous thing indeed.

Some before and an after shots of what we were doing this time last year! The console had arrived but needed a lot of restoration work which is ongoing, though the desk is performing beautifully now. Our next step which we intend to start in the new year is to build a completely new patchbay and hard wire that into the desk in the way it should be. No more going in and out via it's own old internal patchbay. This will also give us a great opportunity to improve the layout and routing of the control room and also a good chance to iron out any little issues still remaining with Miss Raindirk. For example, the meter lights all flicker on and off with fluctuations in temperature, due I suspect to ageing solder joints. This re-wiring is a very big task and one I've been putting off for a long time, but with business going so well and knowing we have a very full and busy year ahead, it'll be great to get everything fully functioning and totally solid first. In effect, we will gain a few features and patching equipment in will be much more elegant and organised! Wish me luck!
