Weekend update...
Memories for myself... Friday- The first day of summer school with my first graders and my first DCI show. It ended up raining and I only got to see the first three groups but highlights include watching my kiddos have solos, hiding out in the raiders food truck during the storm with my friend and some parent volunteers sending snaps to the boy in another truck, and having a fruit snack war. I was really looking forward to seeing some of the world class corps, but it was still a fun night. Saturday- I woke up early to drive down to the raiders camp to meet the boy and some of the other instructors to go to a wedding. We didn't stay long and I didn't actually know the couple, but I had fun with the boy and the staff and it was fun to get dressed up and go out. When we got back, we hung out with some of our kids and the volunteers. Although I'm going to miss being at my old school, the silver lining is that I can have a different relationship with my former guard girls and we can joke around a bit more (they are also graduates so they're not in hs anymore either). Sunday- I woke up early to drive to my the besties house to go down the shore for her birthday. It's become a tradition and we spend all day on the beach. After coming home we hung out, got drunk, and played chronology (history teachers should really check it out). It was nice to have no plans and no worries and just spend time with my best friends. On the fourth we all woke up late, for breakfast, drove home and spent a relaxing day at a neighbors bbq. I'm tired, but my heart is full and I'm happy.
