Masa's Thoughts on Chiyoda Division
Fusao Ise
"Ah, Mr. Ise. A bright, intellectual man. I believe some of our equipment here in the church, our loudspeakers and such, were all manufactured by his company, Wonder⇓anD Sound Systems. Brilliant company, and brilliant equipment, if I do say so myself. You are truly an amazing man, Mr. Ise. Truly, truly, amazing, indeed." Masa says all this with a smile on his face. He sits down at a desk, placing his hands in front of him, still smiling. He then sighs, almost with a regretful tone.
"It's because of your intellect and enthusiasm that I respect you so much. ...And it's because of that, that I simply cannot understand why, for the life of me, you'd choose to work against me instead of with me to create a new and more perfect world. You insult my vision, my work, my church, call me out of my name, and try to prevent me from bringing more followers into the fold. If those were the only issues, I could have easily forgiven you. Because believe it or not, Mr. Ise, all of those things I am quite used to. I am quite used to dealing with the ignorant and those who don't fully understand my methods. And as I stated, if those were your only sins, I could have easily let them fall to the wayside."
"...But." Masa's voice takes a sudden change as a frown appears on his face. "The one thing I cannot forgive you is your heinous acts against my good friend, Eiji Noguchi. Eiji-san and I... we have a mutual relationship. And though he and I don't always agree, we are friends, as well as partners. And if you aren't aware of this, Mr. Ise, it's that I look out for my friends. Whatever problems or troubles they are going through, I do my best to help solve them. So to hear that you have been giving him no end of trouble... it upsets me. It upset me... very, very much."
"I don't know what your issues with Mr. Noguchi are, Mr. Ise. And to be perfectly honest, I do not care. But I strongly advise that you take whatever issues or problems you have him and get over them. If not, I won't be responsible if anything... untoward happens to happen to your company. Do give that some thought."
Raiden Otoha
"Raiden, my old friend!" Masa gives a small grin at the self-proclaimed scientist. "A shame you ran off the way you did. Juu was so upset, as was I. You were probably one of the few people who managed to get away from her, and she didn't like that. Not one bit. So... she, unfortunately, took out her anger and frustration on your dear older brother. My apologies for that. I assure you, his injuries weren't as bad as they looked! ...Well, okay, they weren't as bad as they seemed. ...Actually, you know what? Forget I said any of that. It's a sin to lie after all. Plus, I feel I'm doing Juu and my followers a disservice by saying that. I'll just say this, instead: what happened to him wasn't meant to happen, but it did. And if you need someone to blame for that, then I suggest you look in a mirror."
"I understand you may feel anger, or get a sense that what happened to your kin was wrong. But I've always found that one should always strive to look on the positive side of things. For all that your brother went through, he proved one thing: he was far stronger than you could ever hope to be. The fact he survived what happened to him proves it. ...But do not worry, my child. For I promise you, at the D.R.B., I shall extend to you the exact same punishment. And when it is over, I shall leave your fate to Ippei. He's been wanting to get his hands on you for the longest now."
Chiyuri Seiguni
"A curious child, if I must say so. Though he looks human, he lacks that, shall we say, spark that makes him as such. Of course, I mean that in as a positive manner as I can. After all, far be it for me to judge a child. I'd have to like to have made him one of my followers, but it seems my old friend, Raiden, persuaded him not to. Such a shame. I wanted to find out more about him, not only to learn of his past, but also because Oki, himself, was interested in him, which was a shock. Apparently, Oki thinks that he knows this boy from somewhere, but cannot recall where. Perhaps he knows something about the two years that Oki has been gone. If that is true, then I certainly need to make contact with him as soon as possible, regardless of what Raiden says or thinks."
狂音INC.
"Quite a fascinating team you've come up with, Raiden. A shame you couldn't see past your own ego or your own foolishness. If you had, we could have done amazing things together, along with your brother. But, if I must dirty my hands to get you to open your eyes and teach you a lesson, then so be it. I shall see you at the D.R.B., old friend. I'm certain our match will be one to remember. I'm going to provide you and your team with my very best scriptures."
Eiji's Thoughts on Chiyoda Division
Fusao Ise
"For those of you who don't know, I've lived on earth for 38 years. ...Yes, 38. For those of you that know math, that's approximately 19,972,800 minutes. Not half of a century, but more than a quarter, at least. And for those of you that also don't know this, I've been CEO and president of Sigma Inc. for 16 years. That's 8,409,600 minutes and counting. Not as long as I've been on Earth, but it's still longer than most."
"And you know what life lesson I've discovered from living on Earth all those minutes? It's a very simple lesson that my father told me when I was just a kid, but it's a lesson I've always kept very close to my heart. And it's this: 'You cannot please everyone'. And you know something? My father was absolutely correct. You can't please everyone.
"During my tenure as CEO, I've had to deal with a lot of backlash from people who either don't like what I do, what I say, the decisions I make, the people I choose to associate with, the way I run my business, to whatever excuse they come up with to dislike me. And you know, after the car accident that caused me to lose my leg, I've learned that, more often than not, it's better to try to bury the hatchet whenever you can. Life's too short, after all. Any one of us can be dead tomorrow or the next day. It's better to go to bed at night with a clear head and a clean conscience."
"It's for that reason that whenever I make an enemy or an adversary, I always try to nip the problem in the bud right then and there. I'm not one of those people that like to keep a grudge going, provided of course, your dispute is with me, and me, alone, and doesn't involve any of my friends or family. If there's an issue you have with me, then please, let's have a sit-down and talk about it. You'll have a chance to get everything you want to say out in the open, and you have my word both as a gentleman and as a CEO, I won't interrupt you until you are thoroughly and completely done with your speech. If we leave the discussion with no more problems, good. If we leave as partners, friends, or even just as acquaintances, even better. And if you still have an issue with me after we are done talking, that's also fine. Because at least now, I know what the issue is and where we both stand."
"...It's for that reason that I cannot understand exactly what the problem with this man is." Eiji holds up a photo of Fusao Ise, the CEO of Wonder⇓anD Sound Systems. "For some reason, this man seems to be hellbent on causing me and Sigma Inc. no end of trouble. And the sad thing is, I don't even know why! I've asked him on numerous occasions to let's sit down and talk things out, but he always refuses. If he had such an issue with me, that's fine, but lately, I've received word that he's been spreading negative publicity about PROFILE, which I dislike."
"Fair warning, Mr. Ise: whatever beef you have with me is between us. Leave my company and my platform out of it. Because trust me, you don't wish to know the kind of things I could dig up about Wonder⇓anD Sound Systems. Give that some thought, Mad Hatter."
Raiden Otoh
"One of Wonder⇓anD Sound Systems' employees, if I'm not mistaken. From what I've heard, he seems to have quite the vendetta against Ginza, though I'm pretty sure his anger is directed more at a certain priest." Eiji rolls his eyes. "I swear if I had a dollar for the number of people that man has managed to piss off..."
"Besides that, I don't have too much of an interaction with him. I'm hoping he hasn't been buying into Fusao's talk about PROFILE. I'm not sure if he has one or not, but if he does, he doesn't seem to use it much. But regardless, I'm interested to see what a 'mad scientist' will come up with in the D.R.B."
Chiyuri Seiguni
"He seems to be a very interesting young lad. Like Masa mentioned, he doesn't seem to be entirely... human. Not that there is anything wrong with that! After all, I hope to see a future where transhumanism is the norm. I'd like to sit down and have a talk with him about that, but I don't know if Mr. Ise will allow that, which is a shame. Besides that, Oki claims that he knows this young boy from somewhere, which is a bit of a surprise. Truthfully, I've been doing my own research into finding out exactly what became of Oki in those two years that he was gone. Is it possible that during that time he became acquainted with this young man? Hmm, how mysterious..."
狂音INC.
Eiji sighs as he lights himself a cigarette. "It seems as if there is no shortage of opponents wishing to combat Ginza. I know that I'm partially responsible for that, though. One of the many consequences of being a CEO is that you have no shortage of enemies. And in the D.R.B., that is equally important, as many people are just waiting for their chance to take advantage of your weakness and exploit it."
"...I have to say though, this may be one of the few teams that I am actually looking forward to fighting. As I stated, I like to have a sit-down with my enemies, so we can get everything out in the open. And if I know Mr. Fusao, he has a lot he wishes to say... to me. So..."
Eiji takes the cigarette out of his mouth and stubs it in his ashtray. "...Let's hear exactly what you have to say, Mad Hatter."
Oki's Thoughts on Chiyoda Division
Fusao Ise
"So, this is the guy who Masa-sensei says has been giving Eiji no end of trouble, huh? Ha, if it weren't for the fact that he's Masa-sensei's enemy, I'd give the guy a clap on the back. Anyone who can get that arrogant CEO to take a step back is alright in my books. Too bad he had to go and piss off the priest. Now, I have to hurt him, and I'd rather not do that. ...Well, that's not entirely true. I still want to hurt him, but now I'll have a hard time coming up with a good excuse..."
Raiden Otoha
"Ha, 'mad scientist'? Yeah right! This idiot is just some guy with too much fuckin' time on his hands! Kinda fitting he names himself after a thunder god. His head is obviously too far up in the clouds! And that's my domain, buddy. So back the fuck off!"
"Apparently, Masa-sensei had a run-in with this guy and someone close to him and so... Masa-sensei had to 'absolve' him or some shit. It wasn't anything nice as for as I can tell. A shame I wasn't around to see it. But hey, Masa-sensei says I have free range to hurt this guy if I see him, which is fine with me!"
Chiyuri Seiguni
"This kid... where the hell have I seen him before? I'm not crazy, I know I've seen him before once or twice, but... I can't remember the hell where! ...Does... does he know what happened to me two years ago? Was he there?! Gah, why the hell can't I remember it or him?! I tell you, this guy is giving me some answers at the D.R.B.! And if I find out he had something to do with why my memory is so fuckin' hazy, he's going to pay for it!"
狂音INC.
"Ha, those ladies in Ueno should consider themselves lucky. They were going to be our first elimination in this tournament, but it looks like these guys want to be first, instead! Ha, that's fine with me! Frankly, I don't care who we face, so long as I can face someone! And like I stated, I'm getting some answers from that kid, one way or another! He will tell me what I want to know!"
