redrawing this made me realize how much my art has developed since i posted the og one. hell, it hasn't even been a full year yet!! (・・;)ゞ

i know there's still a lot to get better at, but i'll get there. maybe i'll make redrawing this a yearly thing so,,, i hope y'all stick around to see the next one 🫶

summer 1998 leon and dante both on long car rides (leon to visit his mom|dante to a mission in the midwest or like) meet at a truck stop and exchange pleasantries since they are basically the only 2 guys in there and somehow order the exact same thing. They give each other cds from their cars they are fed up of hearing. Dante gets to listen to pop and leon hard metal. in the start they both hate it but it grows on them and they often think of that cool|cute stranger that gave it to them, making up stories about the kind of person they are in their head. Leon thinks about the kinds of crimes dante is probably carrying out as he learns law. dante has no clue leon will get stationed in raccoon city.

second meeting: 2002. Its not re6 yet but BOW incidents have sprung up around the world. The BSAA cannot afford to investigate them all (bakers were only of interest because it was the crash site of evelines ship). And supernatural events typically dont register because they dont leave any biological/measurable evidence. However now zombies are showing up in an european village for three days and it come on the radar. Leon is sent to investigate with a few other agents but they work the premises alone. He finds the holy site and catacombs where dante has been stuck for several days trying to solve a mystery/puzzle and not dealing with the zombies and also pissing in a corner. Leon gets him out by solving the puzzle with him and they take care of the zombies. Dante pretends to be a normal person and fights boring style but it slips of course. Afterwards dante invites leon to a beer and leon grills him on it and why he is in europe solving supernatural stuff as a citizen. Leon also reveals that he was raised catholic and is somewhat shaken by religion being real. He says hes sure hes going to hell. Dante reassures him hes not. But hes going to kill every demon anyways. Leon feels weirdly reassured by him due to Dantes crazy chill therapeutic aura. this time they make sure to get each others contact information and regularly use it in emergencies.

they also meet once on a night on town, leon with his coworkers (rare occurence, hes just there to get wasted and look cool) and dante with the girls. and start making their meetings more informal. often following up serious missions with pizza or drinks (insisted by dante)

How leon and raiden meet: 2005, zombie outbreaks have mostly been driven by the millitary industrial complex and both of their superiors want them going as special agents to investigate the same company. They both do their secret mission on the same day and always find cameras turned and vents unbolted. Until they finally meet in a computer room. Raiden is already stealing data when leon gets there, and he thinks leon is a guard and takes him out, but leon predicts it and only pretends to be out. hes up again shortly for the data to still be loading. He questions raiden. They argue and are caught, but leon has more clumsy methods and was given a cover story. He covers for raiden. When they both leave the mission, they agree to share the data, but because their surperiors cant know, they share personal contact information. and raiden finds leons myspace.

Raiden is troubled by what he reads about biological warfare (hes not supposed to read the files) keeping him up at night, so he calls leon to talk about it. Here, he meets dante who sometimes drops in uninvited so he doesnt have to get a hotel in the area. Leon reveals he is going on a dangerous mission to which both of the others wont let him go alone. And that is how their partnership begins... raiden is still with rose he just takes yaoi breaks before the divorce. they are an absolute powerhouse in battle
