"most of my dreams are nightmares. nightmares where my mom is weeping but I can't find her. nightmares where i look in the mirror and my reflection is crying, or mad at me. trying to kill me. but the worst nightmares are where i've finally become what everyone thinks i am. ive turned into a monster. scale feathers growing out of my entire body, mandibles locked open, dragging the weight of my torn wings every where i go. i am trying to ask for help but nobody can understand me, they just give me looks of terror, or disgust, or pity. part of me is happy that i am finally a horror, truly monstrous. i can destroy and kill with impunity. i can get revenge. but the dream goes too long and the novelty wears off. and i can't change back. i can't be with my friends, i can't go where i like, i can't sleep in my bed or do anything i want. i'm locked in. i'm trapped as the monster. and then all i want is to die"
