headache, thy name is dionysus : not surprise, with how effective they are at being a pest. a breed he seems to attract without intending to. something he must grin & bear currently, while preparing a pot of gumbo for the hotel staff & guests. which included the annoyance in question, who has taken to hanging about, much to his ever growing chagrin. the knife easily dices through the hell-grown peppers. ❝ —— do keep your hands to yourself, will you? ❞
how can they stop when he makes it so easy? it’s as if alastor is asking for them to make that smile tighten and eyes flash with dislike. it’s the most genuine emotion he seems capable of offering, and what does the god of theater love more than challenging an actor? pushing them until they break character, then watching them rebuild with the pieces to make something greater. he’s a PERFORMER, and really, they expect better.
nevertheless, they grin wide enough to rival his own smile, absentmindedly twirling a knife between their claws. don’t ask where it came from, alastor doesn’t want to know where it came from.
‘ oh, darling alastor, when have you or i ever invaded personal space, hm? ‘
it’s a casual jab, a little reminder that while they may seem to be nothing but an overpowered monstrosity with too much time on their hands, they are watching. he wants an audience? the god of acting will watch, will analyze, and ultimately find his performance LACKING. but in the meantime, they can poke and prod, see what he can improve on and maybe, if they feel so inclined, will give him the components to becoming the most lovely liar.
for now, however, they begin cooking next to him, not close, but on the same counter. he can’t exactly make food for everyone, can he? cutting meat in even dices, they toss a piece into the air and catch it in their mouth.
‘ i hope you like your steak raw. ‘
