day three! my little green guys first one is another mystery. the underside of a few leaves has a bit of purple edging, so i’d almost say it’s just a black prince or black knight that hasn’t colored up yet. we shall see. second is senecio radicans, string of bananas. she’s very small right now, but i’m hoping to set something up so i can get her in a hanging planter!

Esta pequena há tempos não dava as caras aqui em casa. De tanta bagunça que fiz no orquidário nos últimos anos, minhas Ornithophora radicans – tipo e alba – acabaram juntas em um vaso, além de outras várias mudas menores espalhadas por aí.
Bom, tirando a mistura meio que sem querer, o vaso está grande e bonito. E finalmente, depois de 2 ou 3 anos, as flores voltaram com força total.
Uma das micro-orquídeas mais bacanas que temos em nossa flora, a Ornithophora radicans é uma orquídeas que todo orquidófilo deve cultivar, pois é muito bela e capaz de formar grande touceiras rapidamente.

Detalhes
Orquídea epífita de pequeno porte, de temperado para quente, encontrada nos estados do Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina e Rio Grande do Sul entre 0 à 400 metros de altitude. Floresce no verão ou no outono e suas flores duram bastante, entre 15 e 20 dias.
