New Beginnings
Violetpaw stood by the big tree with Racoonsight, her paws prickling with worry for her parents, as well as her mentor Egretfoot. With a quick scan of the clearing, the ginger molly noticed her denmates.Â
“Beetlepaw!” She called out as she raced over to greet the brown and white molly and her littermates.
“Violetpaw!” The trio cheered in unison, excited to see their denmate alive after that whole ordeal with the fire.
Racoonsight let out a small purr as he watched the four apprentices rejoice in reunion, happy to see the clan’s youngest members all alive and well.
“Any idea where all the warriors went?” Beetlepaw’s sister asked, looking around the clearing. “I don’t see any sign of our parents, or Duckbriar.”
“Racoonsight told me we were supposed to meet here.” Violetpaw explained to the gray tabby. “But I haven’t seen anyone else but you three so far.”
“I’m sure they’re fine.” The only tom of the apprentices reassured his sisters and friend. “Mother is amazing with medicine; she’ll make sure everyone makes it here.”
The rustle of nearby bushes caught the small group’s attention, a triumphant purr rumbling in Alderpaw’s chest. “See? I bet that’s everyone now!”
Four cats pushed through the bushes and into the clearing. A dark grey molly led the group, as one ginger and one brown and white tabby flanked a familiar slim silver molly. The newcomers looked ragged, the silver cat looking the worst of the bunch.
“Egretfoot!” Violetpaw yowled as she ran over to her mentor.
“Ashheart, what happened?” Racoonsight asked the dark grey molly. “Where is everyone else?”
“They’re gone...”
