theres this thing that is racist that progressive whites do and you gotta put in the effort to stop! this has just been happening a lot in my interactions with ppl lately itâs not just one person so please read this!
making fun of/intentionally butchering/abbreviating a nonwhite personâs name is racist--even when they did something sexist, homophobic, ableist, etc. Â Itâs all in good fun when youâre doing it to annoying white celebrities, say, with the initials B.C., but you cant do that to people of color, and i know you all know why, because weâve all seen the gifsets of uzoamaka aduba and quvenzhaneâ wallis (and countless others) explaining why.Â
just because youre upset about something doesnt mean you can do the wrong thing just this once. even if you think the person deserves to be disrespected because of something horrible theyâve done, its not okay to disrespect them on account of their race or ethnicity.
