The only time Tobias neglected his drink was when he was engrossed in a painting (well, or sex, but it was easy and somewhat elegant to drink directly after). He would let his wine cup idle for hours when he was particularly into a piece, as he was this afternoon. This also forced him into somewhat of a seclusion, since he usually socialized by drinking downstairs in the Tavern. But even the gentle hum of the people below or the taste-memory of wine on his tongue could not compare to the joy of knowing he was working on a beautiful painting. His pride, his accomplishment - his only self worth was found here, between brush strokes.
The painting he was working on today was full of bright hues - scarlets, blues, the soft yellow of a gown. Tobias had chosen one of his larger canvases, and it could conceivably take him days to fill it all with paint. He wondered if this one would be good enough to sell in his small gallery - he only hoped so. If nothing else, he could give it to Joanna to hang downstairs - the painting was of her daughter, after all.

"This town is less than human than vampire." Wendy complained, lips twisted in a scowl as she faced off against a punching bag. She had one in the middle of her living room, which she'd taken over to transform into a training room. It wasn't as though she had time to sit around and watch TV or knit or whatever, so the room was more useful this way. Wendy glanced over at Viola, pulling her hair out of her face. "I don't know how you've stood it for so long. Don't get me wrong, I know you're a great hunter, and you must have killed a fair few - but God, it's like I get that vibe just walking outside. It's nauseating to know we're so surrounding by them."
She'd invited Viola over for a bit of practice, knowing that her skills could use an extra eye while she honed them. It had been awhile since she'd had a partner for sparring or just simple form corrections - since her father had died, actually. Two years. Two years, searching for other members of The Five. And finally she'd found them. Well - Viola was a victory. She wasn't sure about Jeremy just yet. "So, have you thought of a plan of attack yet? We should take out a few before this gets out of control...and of course, to finish our tattoos. How far did you say yours goes?"
