In this book, Rachel Patterson gives a lot of suggestions on how to work magically with nature â even if you live in a city â as well as with Nature deities, the four elements, as well as elementals, the weather, the moon, the sun, with all sorts of materials you can find in nature and more. There are also suggestions for typical witchy objects, like witch bottles, medicine bags, poppets and handcrafting with natural objects. There are several short guided meditations which I found quite inspiring. When I say, suggestions I mean that because the approach of the author is, work with your intuition and work with what you have at hand. There is no âThis is the only and best way to do thisâ or similar statements. I like that very much.
If you are vegan or vegetarian, you might want to skip the parts about the usage of animal parts, for instance from road kills (in chapters 11 and 13).
The last chapter pf this book is about hedge riding and it strongly reminded me of my experiences with shamanic journeying. The author says, âHedge riding is very similar to shamanic journeys and also incorporates the art of Seidh or âseer workâ in that you will communicate with the spirits.â

I can recommend this book to any witch (or beginner witch) who would like to connect their practise more to nature - and as I mentioned before, even if you live in the middle of a big city, there are many suggestions and ideas in this book which you might find quite useful.
