"Some things just work", you think. Basic concepts of right and wrong that you learned as a child, you don't even know where from: from your parents, from Uncle Cunningham, from some TV program or book. You just know that the sky is blue, the grass is green, the ministerial banners are red, and a good citizen keeps quiet and obeys. Violence is like a way of saying "hello" in the Great State, and maybe you are the problem if you feel as if it’s wrong. Be more grateful next time.

I imagine Rose wouldn’t care enough to bother learning the tiny differences between Hank and Rabindranath, and whenever she’s yelling at them (usually Hank) she always mixes them up.

Meanwhile John Smith can tell which one’s talking to him without even looking because Hank has a slightly raspier voice, and Gloria knows Rabindranath doesn’t have the scar on his right eyebrow.
