With these embraces, and countless and varied sacred experiences, my life as a rabbi began 20 years ago today. Ordination is only one (magical) step along the path of earning my semicha (rabbinic degree). The others have been deeper, more challenging, and infinitely more rewarding than I could have ever imagined. I am so grateful for every teacher I've been blessed to know, and more committed to answering my calling than ever. Today, I renew my pledge to work with everything I have until the end of my days to be worthy of this holy legacy.
