The last installment in my revenge chain with Auspice last year! I had fun coming up with character interactions. :)

Prologue for a new comic, Myosotis! Kel accidentally wakes up an eldritch god and... proceeds to go on as normal. 

The rest is below the cut, didn’t want it getting too long on the dash! I’ll put it on Tapas eventually for easy reading, but for now I’ll stick things here. 

Also: don't be fooled by the prologue, it'll probably be short comedy slice-of-life minicomics. ... with Plot and Feelings slipped in sometimes.

Goal: Write 1 thought every day re: why I love The Legend of Korra until I finish rewatching the series.

#93: The creation of the first avatar.

I love the entire sequence in “Beginnings Part 2″ when Wan merges with Raava to become the first avatar. It is absolutely beautiful, and the music -- in particular, the reappearance of the ATLA theme in all its glory -- gives me ALL THE FEELS. 

My favorite thing about the sequence is that it’s almost entirely wordless. We see the creation of the first avatar through art, from this stunning depiction of Harmonic Convergence:

To the joining of the two magnetic poles: 

To Raava lighting up within Wan: 

To Wan touching the spirit portal:

And then KABOOM: 

I love this distorted shot of Vaatu as he/it flees from the light:

And then the ATLA theme comes in (and so do all the feels): 

And we get one single line of dialogue from Raava: “We are bonded forever,” as we see the familiar avatar state glow:
