The second time was soon after he’d fully recovered; the redhead walking down the halls of the Mansion with a file in hand, blue eyes taking in the information and only barely registering the unnatural breeze until she ran into something solid. She blinked, looking up into those eyes again and a small smile forms. “Hi.” 

Sarah leans into his touch as she feels an arm wrap around her, closing the file in her hands as her arms moved around his waist. Pietro gives her a grin and his free hand guides her lips to his, prompting the telepath to pull him tight against her. “What was that for?” she asked when the kiss was broken, earning a smile and a shrug from the silver-haired mutant as their foreheads touched. “I just missed you.”

The redhead smiled, feeling a blush form on her cheeks before she gave him a quick smooch. “I missed you too Pi.”

The third time was after he awoke with a start, the telepath registering his distress moments later before she wandered down the hall to his room and opened the door. The speedster had broken out in a cold sweat, head in his hands as he panted, his mind reeling from the memories of being shot so many times and how Wanda felt him almost die. 

Closing the door and crossing the distance between them, Sarah soon slid onto the bed beside him and placed a hand gently on his hair. “Shh, Pi it’s okay.” He flops into her arms and shudders, his mind starting to manipulate him with terrible thoughts, only for the telepath to will those thoughts away. No. He’d suffered enough. Now was not the time for those sorts of thoughts, now was the time to heal.

She feels his face bury itself into her neck and she smiles, pressing a kiss to the top of his head as he releases a sob, prompting the older of the two to wrap him tighter in her arms. Later, they’re both under the covers and still holding each other, Pietro’s sobs finally calmed before he looks up at her, giving her a watery smile before he leans in for a kiss. The telepath reciprocates, fingers gently tangling in silver hair and channeling her thoughts to him to show just how much he means to her, and she feels him smile in the kiss.

The fourth time was after the twins had reunited-with the help of Sarah and Shawn-and Fury had given them some information. Pietro already knew, Sarah had told him when he was recovering from Sokovia, but Wanda didn’t. The Scarlet Witch actually took it pretty well, and she wanted to meet their saviors from the night they lost their parents. 

Sarah was out on a mission, but Shawn was home when the Maximoff twins appeared, and the son of Wolverine instantly knew who this little brunette was. Next thing Pietro knew, Shawn and Wanda were off in the living room with caffeinated beverages and talking up a storm. Pietro had been offered one, of course, but he declined in favor of wandering around the Mansion.

Hours later Sarah returned and found Pietro in her room, staring at pictures from their rescue mission in Sokovia she’d placed in an album for missions. The telepath leaned heavily against the door with a smile before she twitched her fingers and two photos from her vanity floated over to the speedster: one from rescuing the Maximoffs in Sokovia, the other from footage he knew HYDRA had of him and Wanda mere months ago. “I never forgot you, you know,” she murmured, earning a wistful look from the speedster when he held the photos in his hands. In a blink he was before her, wrapping arms around her waist and pulling her in once more, the telepath cradling his jaw in the kiss. “I never forgot you either....”

The fifth time was when the Mansion was silent. The kids were (for the most part) home for the holidays, the other staff had gone to visit their families or they were off doing their own thing. Speedster and Telepath curled up on the couch, sleepily marathoning Christmas movies as the snow falls outside, only shifting when one has to use the bathroom or to switch from one being stretched atop the other. Sarah feels Pietro shift, preparing herself to move as well but he only moved so he can face her. “Hi,” she chuckles, stroking his hair as he smiles back. 

“I love you.”
