#Repost @jbishop123 (@get_repost) ・・・ Y’all! I finally finished up the girl border for the #girlnextdoorquilt! Boy this section was the hardest for me to make decisions about. I went through soooo many different versions of these girls! I’m going to do a post about the “rejected” girls but I wanted to go ahead and get this one out there. I chose to give my girls a uniform. I am not 100% sure that this version will be the last...but for right now, let’s say that it is! My biggest issue with the current version is that it almost speaks a different language than the rest of the quilt. Up to this point everything has been pretty symmetrical...like all the flowers are the same...etc... I had a hard time with the girls because I didn’t want them all to be the same race. That inherently switches up the language...especially since there are 6 girls on each side...but I only had 4 skin tones on hand. I chose to roll with it...and even chose to add four different hair colors. If I change it again I may make them all a generic “brown” color...and give them all the same hair. I’m going to ponder it for the rest of the month. The one girl that will definitely remain the same is the blue girl. My version of this #Louisepapas quilt has organically turned into a story quilt. I have very specific reasons why I chose the blue window and the blue girl but it has been super fun seeing how people who pass through my studio interpret it! I’m not going to tell y’all my reasoning...but if you’re interested PM me and I’ll tell you! All I ask is that you keep it to yourself!
