37. favorite headcanon?

god! so many. i do like my ilya's nickname is ra ra headcanon. that one is silly but i charmed myself with that one so it's very dear to me 😂 i might also be on an island with this one but i hc ilya was only half joking about reading the new yorker because he had a what would shane hollander do moment about how to improve his english and landed on read the new yorker ofc. unlike shane, he does genuinely find it boring as fuck but makes himself read at least a couple of articles in each issue because unfortunately it does work. he keeps this very, very quiet because he has an image to uphold and shane doesn't find out about it until they've moved together and it arrives on the doorstep on afternoon. this delights shane and he crows about it, much to ilya's chagrin. anyway, shane isn't complaining because then they get to complete the crossword together after that 😌

43. biggest wish for season 2?

again, so many things but the biggest is for shane's struggle and the pressure he's under to be given the proper weight i felt it was lacking in the book. he was consistently undermined in the narrative and i hope some of that balance is restored in the show. i'm not even saying ilya has to be perfectly understanding about all his fears because we need to have conflict but shane needs to have someone in his corner who isn't making out that his fears are unfounded.

44. what color is shane’s dildo?

i am a purple shildo truther 💜 i think he bought the first one he could find on the canadian equivalent of ann summers and called it a day. it did not have a flared base and he had tried to use it maximum of one and a half times before that asg where ilya asked about it.
