Raising an eyebrow, the responding laugh was quiet and notably just the slightest bit hollow, arms crossing unconsciously.  “I don’t think I’m an optimist.”  He didn’t quite defend himself.  “I’m not sure if I’m a pessimist, but certainly not an optimist.  Disappointed idealist, perhaps?”

It was normal to find himself being pulled away by Prompto. He didn’t think anything of it at first, and then he was pressed against the crumbling brick wall of the place they were passing through, the blond’s mouth on his skin like electricity. He was so caught by surprise that he moaned aloud; eyes fluttering shut as his legs went weak and he pressed against the wall to keep his footing. The princes’ hands tangled in Prompto’s hair desperately. 

“Don’t stop--” But he should. Fuck they shouldn’t be giving in like this-- not when someone could come looking for them or some beast in the wilds could come upon them at any moment.

“Prompto. You know how you get--” There was no point in trying to talk him out of something he’d already done. Noctis sighed and gave a half smile. 

He tilted his head slightly and leaned to one side, trying to act like he wasn’t totally checking his best friend out. Well. He was kind of always checking him out-- but now he was looking forward to whatever antics that would be coming their way. 

“Now I’m going to have to make sure you don’t make a fool out of yourself.” He teased.

Improvisation

There’s a brief silence on his end of theconversation. A snort of laughter cuttinghim off from replying the second thegunner’s text came in.
