Maybe they're like Dragon Naturally Speaking, where it learns the accent/tone, or in a Quick Quills case, intent/authorial style? A Quick Quill owned by Hermione would dash out a lot of footnotes for later reference, perhaps?
Ooooh that would be cool too! I was assuming they were all kind of sleazy and that’s why Dumbledore wouldn’t like them but I like both options.
Either way, you know Hermione had that quill while Rita was a bug so I’m sure they still could have played the game!
random thoughts for the day: regarding Rita Skeeter’s Quick Quill-- 1. did it have to be trained to write like that? 2. can anyone purchase a Quick Quill have use it to write horrible articles? 3. do you think that students held contests to write ridiculous articles and then see who could sound most similar to a Quick Qill?
i just think yes. Imagine all the Weasleys plus probably Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan -- imagine the whole Gryffindor house really -- sitting around and trying to write the most over-the-top paragraphs they can to see who can do it best.
Or! Or, like a game, everyone writes a paragraph on a topic, as does the Quick Quill and then they are shuffled and you have to try and guess which was the Real Quick Quill.
just saying, that would be an awesome game.
