     eddie shook his head, more to himself than anyone else, as he thought how unfair it was that richie didn’t have a coat to wear like the rest of them. but he also knew that even if he were to give the other his own coat, it wouldn’t fit the kid, he was much taller than he was and in turn the coat wouldn’t fit. 

     still, he had to think for a moment. 

          “i don’t think any of us will be that version of ourselves anymore, bev,” they’ve not only seen too much death around them, but they’ve fought against it as well. one doesn’t just come back from seeing that shit and still be the same person they once was. 

          “i’ve had worst days, trust me on that.” he offered the woman a smile as he let out a cough that he had been holding in. “i’m sure i’ll be over it soon, been taking some really good antibiotics.”

          “can you take a chance on me? because i can take a chance on you…” his words were soft as he fiddled with his hands out of nervousness, he knew that this was out of nowhere, he didn’t even know if richie heard him right thanks to the bell ringing while he spoke.

     that’s what normally happened in derry, people leave and they’re never heard from again, not that they died or anything, just that they never came back–and eddie wondered why that was as he heard what richie had to say. 

          “so let’s give each other something to remember us by.” he said with a soft smile forming on his face. “you know, like a trinket or something!”

           “we don’t have to talk about where we go from here..” it was a lot to think about, he wanted nothing more than to keep in contact with the other losers, but at the same time, when they left derry to go on their own paths once more–would they even remember who was in their phones? who the name belonged to?

          “richie, not too long ago we were at a chinese restaurant enjoying sushi and everything with our friends, i’m sure that you’ll be fine if you eat some of my own home cooking,” besides, it was a feast made for two kings as he sat down at the table with a smile on his face.

     he didn’t want richie to find him like this, the both of them had been through so much, adding the fact that eddie was now without a physical body because of his death–he didn’t know if richie would even believe that he was here or not. 

     he could just chalk it up to this being a hallucination, he didn’t know, but eddie had to say something.
