On Being Alive. Some Ratpack Philosophy for all Queerdos.
“I will live until I die”
There the rat pack is right.
(In general we can assume that what a bunch of privileged good looking middle aged white guys consider a good life is exactly what we all should feel entitled to. For … why not?)
May this be your mantra.
Do not let anyone or anything keep you from living to the fullest.
For you will be sacrificed for the greater good, by verdict of divine evolution.
You will die.
Do not let your potential happiness, power, wealth, liberty, love, lasting legacy and legend be sacrificed one minute earlier.
But also: You will not be more original, more radical, more interesting, more healthy, more wealthy, more saintly, more beautiful, more victorious, more successful, influential or famous than you were meant to be.
If you try too hard by imitating others, stealing from others, selling obsolete and false ideologies, or applying violent, inadequate, mindless, fraudulent and unsave methods and technologies, the costs will be high, the dangers grave, the results most likely a failure.
Or even a curse with far reaching consequences.
And be it in the treacherous mask of a gigantic bubble of apparent “success” or “victory” written with the devil's sulphurous ink.
If you have a weird and insistent hunch that you might be a genius born for a most unusual accomplishment (like I always had) … try something precise and daring others deem impossible or have failed at, and succeed at it.
In the eyes of your own deep self and inner master, or one and a few truly knowing ones.
And then keep it hidden and do something else. Best something one can consider a service to humanity, sacred nature or the most needy, or most hungry and intelligent part of the global or local youth.
(You will be so certain of yourself and anything you do in this knowledge of your secret stroke of genius, you will be next to invincible. So becoming a con artist of money acquisition to have some luxury as your weirdo self to be shared with your weirdo friends and lovers might also be fine.)
Never try to please the crowd while still rather young and alive, unless great wealth and power to do good is likely to be gained. For success with mass and media is a trap and a prison to those who are truly, truly, truly, not just once in the long run, but only once in this precise incarnation … alive.
