The Doctor plonked himself down on the sofa.

Peri sat right next to him, then enclosed him in a hug. She leaned her head against him.

The Doctor asked, “What is this for?”

Peri heard the smile in his voice. “Just... thanks for taking me with you on all these trips.”

“The pleasure is mine, Ms Brown. You are great company.”

“Thanks.”

The Doctor slid an arm round Peri’s lower back, then said, “I take it you particularly enjoyed that last trip?”

“That was the most beautiful garden I’ve ever seen. It had flowers that I’d never even dreamed of before. It was all so lovely, and it smelled very nice. So, I mean, yes.”

“Good.”

Special mention: UNIT: Extinction is a cohesive, well-paced, action-packed box set. The whole story feels like a good, typically long Pertwee-era serial. (Also, I love Kate Stewart.)

Okay, so, those five enumerated stories and the UNIT: Extinction box set were written by six writers, but three were directed by Scott Handcock and three were directed by Ken Bentley. Was this a statistical likelihood, or do I apparently have favourite directors? I mean, how much of BF’s 2015 output were directed by these two? Just curious. (I usually pay more attention to who’s writing which than who’s directing what.) I do love Frankenstein, Dorian, and Torchwood, which are all children of Handcock, so I guess that sort of answers my question.
