Australia’s National Motor Museum has an entire exhibition on the subject of our latest podcast, mechanic Alice Anderson!

Alice established Australia’s first all-female garage in Melbourne in 1919, a business which attracted non-conforming women as staff and customers, including queer women. It is likely Alice herself was a lesbian.

The exhibition features a replica of the garage, as well as of the uniforms Alice’s staff wore, and of the car she drove from Melbourne to Alice Springs in 1926.

It’s very exciting to see a museum exhibition on the subject of one of our podcasts - but since most of us can’t make it to Birdwood, South Australia, check out the podcast instead!
