In a world where Queer people have been starved for content & representation I am so grateful for this film. My heart hurts & I get so angry at the erasure and oppression queer people experience by not being able to learn about our history. Language for the zeitgeist will always be the barrier for human expression. Glaring racism aside, the performances seem philosophically ahead of their time, and especially in comparison to what we see on RuPaul's Drag Race (the most Emmy nominated reality TV show of all time & now global franchise). Just remember Hibiscus the next time you go to bully Madame Madness for being a bearded queen. Ever forward, with gratitude for the past!
