Philly Queer Brunch #9: Supporting Project SAFE
Come one, come all, and bring your friends along for a potluck brunch fundraiser to support Project SAFE of Philadelphia, which is an all-volunteer and peer-led grassroots organization that provides SUPER important advocacy, support, and harm reduction services to sex workers and other women working in street economies!! 100% of the money raised will go towards supporting the necessary and ALWAYS underfunded services that SAFE provides, and 100% of the food contributed will go towards us being happy and very full. WHAT IS THE EVENT? Philly Queer Brunch is a monthly queer potluck fundraiser benefiting a different queer, trans, and otherwise justice-oriented organization each month. This month, we're raising money for PROJECT SAFE! We'll enjoy our food and each other's company, and also chat about Project SAFE, harm reduction, sex worker justice, and the intersection of queer/trans and sex worker rights movements. AND on that note, we're ALSO going to be MAKING ANOTHER ZINE, with the theme of HARM REDUCTION AND HEALTH ADVOCACY. We're sure that y'all will bring your zine A-game as usual!! WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Since it's a potluck, we're encouraging everyone to bring a dish or drink to share AND $10 to donate. In exchange, you'll get all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink brunch and great company. Please also note: donations of ANY size are extremely welcome. If $10 isn't feasible for you right now, we would still love to have you join us! And if you're able to give more, Project SAFE could use your support. WHO'S INVITED? EVERYONE is welcome at PQB! We hope especially to create a safe and welcoming space for queer and trans women and genderqueer folks, but we very much invite ALL folks to come join us. WHERE CAN I FIND OUT MORE? You can find us on Twitter (@PHLqueerbrunch) and Tumblr (phillyqueerbrunch.tumblr.com), and you can also sign up for our mailing list here: http://eepurl.com/3bCA5 ***Please note that although 2319 St. Alban's St is not by default accessible to all individuals with physical mobility issues (due to a small flight of stairs), we are committed to working with folks to make any and all necessary adjustments!!! Feel free to send any of us a message if you'd like to talk further.
