I headcanon that Sebastian doesn’t bathe. Not in any normal sense of the word. He doesn’t have the time for it, nor does he even really need to. He can get rid of the blisters from mustard gas with a wave of his hand, I’m sure the grimy sweaty buildup of an average day is nothing (does the dude even sweat? probably not). Then again, just because he doesn’t need to do it, doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy it.

Sometimes, Ciel offers to let Sebastian bathe with him – he acts like its a special reward for when his servant does well – and of course Sebastian can’t refuse something so tempting. The image of Sebastian and Ciel sharing a bathtub is just comical for me. At first they sit awkwardly facing each other, Sebastian’s long legs angled to fit in the tub with his knees sticking up out of the water. Eventually that awkwardness dissolves and Ciel winds up in Sebastian’s lap, letting him lather up his hair and scrub his back and limbs and all that good bath stuff.

There have been times though when Ciel has kicked him out during his bath. Not often when they’re sharing the tub, though it’s not unheard of, but it happens more often when the demon is kneeled on the floor beside him in the bath and says something flippant or snarky as he washes his hair and Ciel gets angry, he tells him to get out and stay out until he calls him back in. (Ciel sulks until the bath water starts to get chilly then calls his servant back in to towel him off and take him to bed. Knowing he’s unlikely to share the young master’s bed that night when he’s in such a mood, Sebastian goes painstakingly slow as he dries the boys lithe little body and dresses him for bed, which only aggravates Ciel and makes him kick the stupid devil out all over again.)

But Ciel does love sharing a bath with Sebastian. I mean, the view is great, but there’s something surreal about seeing Sebastian completely naked, all the way down to his black toenails, hair slick and sticking to his face, his impressive length soft between his legs, just soaking in the water beside him. It’s easy to forget that he’s a demon sometimes, though it does explain why he’s so devilishly handsome.

Ciel futzes a lot whenever it’s bathtime, like he’s trying to delay it as long as possible, but then he’ll stay in the water as long as he can before it starts to get cold and Sebastian pulls him out for his own health.

If Ciel ever gets to grow up, I think that even as a older teen/young adult he’d still have Sebastian there for his baths. He won’t make the demon wash every inch of his skin anymore, he can do that by himself, but he will have Sebastian wash his hair for him – he likes those long fingers massaging his scalp and tickling his head. At this point in his life, it’s just routine to have Sebastian by his side in the bath. So the butler ends up perched on the edge of the tub or on a chair beside it, just admiring how beautiful his master is while he cleans himself. It’s not weird.
