i dont understand how hard it is for my fellow American Jews to understand that we are Jewish. We are not Israeli. It literally just doesn't work like that.
"Israel" in the Torah is different from the modern State of Israel. We are People of Israel because we are descendants of Jacob/Israel, not because we are tied to the land of a Kingdom. You don't need to defend a state that isn't yours and has no connection with you outside of theology just because you read it. If people justly criticizing and protesting Israel's actions hurts you personally in some way, maybe you need to examine your relationship with Judaism as a cultural diaspora in America instead of claiming that we need our own Jewish state in order to be safe (which is some Bullshit that just serves to further other Jews in the eyes of society).
