I asked a songwriter friend of mine for advice on writerâs block (specifically in the case where I was stuck with one good line and nothing to fill in around it), and he said it was a procedural issue and would get better with practice, said that he approaches it by thinking of what logically needs to happen in a beginning, middle, and end of the storyline and letting that propel him through. He likened it to rhetoric in an essay as well for less âstory-drivenâ ideas.
Basically, it boiled down to telling me, someone known to forget to break down projects into approachable tasks, âyou have to figure out what youâre trying to say, and then say itâ
