@quaranmine's Incandescence of a Dying Light is so incredible at establishing and maintaining an environment. it really does an excellent job of placing the reader in a forest in late summer and convincing you to believe in something that can't possibly be true. it also convinced me to play Firewatch and after playing it i can also confirm the fic does an incredible job of drawing the aesthetic and ambience of the game into writing. the paranoia is also really well translated into something less born of fear and more of grief and hope

beacon, x is a literal enigma to me. nothing about him fits with what you initially expect. He's like a really tall, buff; bearded fitness-health oriented person who plays guitar and rides mountain bike and listens to metal but then he's also sunshine incarnate and calming and derpy and loves bees and his friends and aaaaaaaa! like none of those are necessarily incongruent but you just don't expect it, you know?

quaranmine is such a beautiful writer, she has this knack for writing scenes that I think about constantly for days after I read them! I got back into drawing after a long time away by doodling fan art for HTBAHB because I just couldn't stop thinking about the scene where Mumbo first sees everything on the server at once
