This hasn’t been brought up! I rather like the idea personally–it matches with what I’ve been saying about Marie’s dungeon feeling like a blueprint to be used for any “Goro’s still alive” plot twists they’d wanna pull later.

(Incidentally, everyone should go back and play Persona 4 and/or 3. Damn good games, those. And the way they handle Shadows and dungeons would be interesting idea fodder for this Metaverse jailbreak AU.)

I know that P5 said some stuff like “Persona users can’t have Palaces,” but I can easily see them coming up with a non!Palace location that holds Akechi prisoner. It could be a sort of bubble-pocket universe that would disappear completely after a certain amount of time, thus necessitating the PT get to Akechi pronto and save him before it seals shut.

In fa~ct, they could be ultra meta and actually call it a dungeon instead of a Palace (because Palaces have dungeons and… well, fourth wall breaking stuff is totally within this game’s scope, and Futaba would absoLUTELY call it a dungeon crawl). Like a Palace, the dungeon could be born out of Akechi’s distorted desire, but those desires would be him torn between accepting death and wanting desperately to live instead of being power hungry/manipulative/eager for control/abusive, etc.

sry to break it to you anon but ur faves aren’t here to turn into inspirational influential mentors just bc they write good fic and post it online lmao, they’re people with lives and don’t necessarily want to take on that responsibility in the first place stop putting them on a pedestal and stop getting disappointed by expectations you put on them despite being a complete stranger, i’m uncomfortable and pissed just watching this whole exchange happen

If anon wants to admire and enjoy my writing, then fine. But I’m a mentally ill young adult who’s not all that good with people in the first place (hello, recent acceptance of the fact that I’m probably on the spectrum), and as much as I’m willing to offer advice and answer asks, I’m still human. I’m still allowed to have negative emotions when someone does something that makes me feel bad.

icr the exact timeline, did the pt already know his true identity at that point? bc if so it could also be pt intentionally messing with him LOL on a more bittersweet note tho i do like to think of it as being a sort of "what could have been" kinda thing, bc like for ex if it was ryuji eating it then it becomes a funny memory for them. so having akechi be the center of the gag is very like "man in another world he couldve just been part of the team too :'I "

This is when Akechi was dropping heavy hints that he knew their true identities. The PT’s behavior around him in this scene is one of tension and unease, because they’re afraid they’ll be outed/caught. I believe Morgana suspected him, but he didn’t share these thoughts with Ren until *after* Goro pulls them aside to blackmail them. He also grabs the spicy takoyaki piece on his own, by pure chance.
