I like this question. I mean - I don’t know if he does have the footage from Naples that includes Loki desperately hugging Steve and crying all over him which is pretty incriminating on its own, or if SHIELD scrubbed that, but something even more explicit than that (like a kiss) would be...that would be an issue that he might actually bring up. Directly. To Steve. 

As in, he’s actually entirely not fit for duty, not just if he doesn’t sign the Accords, but ever. And if he doesn’t back off and do exactly as Ross says, including turning Loki and Bucky both over, he’s going to make damn sure Steve gets court-martialed. He’s considering having it done anyway. Because that’s...on another level. Harboring a dangerous, hostile is one thing and bad enough, but fraternizing with one...that’s way beyond the pale. 

On a level that I almost think Ross would give Steve an out of claiming he was brainwashed or mind controlled or something. Which of course Steve wouldn’t take. 

hahaha, oh man. I actually...literally just use an Excel doc? I have one column for “date” and one column for “word count” and I just...at the end of the day I check what I’ve written and tally it. and then make a table out of the daily counts, and then make another table that totals up all the daily counts per month.

and then just for good measure I also calculate the average per day and total word count in the year so far.

Yeah I read it and it was real we need to get a bonafide queer writer on his next book.

we need to get a writer who actually...gets loki is all I’m really asking, even. I mean, I’d love a queer writer (though I have no idea about kieron gillen/al ewing’s sexuality, I’m assuming nothing) but like...god. no one since them seems to actually seems to understand what makes him a compelling character, imo, and seems determined to ignore the four years of character development those writers put him through.

Although to be fair I feel the same way about Marvel’s entire line.

there’s actually some great stuff coming out, imo - all new wolverine is fantastic, I really enjoyed the first issue of mark waid/chris samnee’s captain america (and hear good things about the second one, picking it up today), ms. marvel is still a fucking delight, hawkeye the same

Very fair! I admit I fell out mostly during Secret Empire, so I’m not as caught up as I could be.

I mean. fair. I just took on the tactic of completely ignoring Secret Empire and pretending it wasn’t happening. which actually mostly worked out for me! the vast majority of the comics I read didn’t touch it.

I have not read this! (also omg late response, I guess I just lost this one somewhere in the old inbox.) 

I’ll mark it down as one to try out, at the very least. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of it before. I couldn’t remember where I knew the name George MacDonald from, and started to think I was just mixing him up with William Morris (whose Wood Beyond the World is a very fun book, especially when you read the facsimile edition), but then I searched his name and apparently he wrote At the Back of the North Wind, which while I did not read it, my family had an edition of it that I used to flip through mostly just to look at the illustrations.
