flow state. Logging back in after 9 years
8/9/25: Took a solo trip to the mountains and hung out with people I didn’t know. Some from close by, others not so close. The weekend was fun, kid-like, and joyful— an overall success.
I still struggle reaching out to new friends I’ve made since starting to skate. There’s a lot of effort that goes into building new relationships. Part of me is shy, the other part not ready for change.
question for other people who skate quads but are better than me
am i supposed to take my toe stops off to learn how to spin and junk because toe heel manuals are hard with the stops because theyre too close to the ground on my toe so i keep getting nervy about how little allowance i have on a toe manual
advice from better skaters please grahhhh
or just tell me im stupid that may also be the case lol
hi ! I recently made a stop motion replacement animation for class, and chose to make a risoprint animation. this is the process I went through, ill post the final video separately :) I just wanna add a background but its due in 2 days x.x
this is my base animation that I started with, it's a 16 frame loop at 24fps. For opacity, the right arm and side are at 50%, and the left arm and side are at 25%. The hair and little sparks are fully opaque.
then I compiled multiple frames into the same 8.5 x 11 layout. this is because that was the size of cardstock I got and to save on master copies since im using my schools riso machine :)
then I risograph printed them as bicolor prints! very cool process that im rather new but I did have to merge all the purple layers and all the pink layers, and because I fit 6 frames to a page I had 3 pages for 6 master copies. i hope to do more in the future but I think master copies will be my biggest limitation from making a longer form risograph animation.
so I cut them into individual frames! I took a down shooter test but the camera quality is awful ...
ok maybe its not that bad
the final step was me CAREFULLY cutting out all 16 frames except for any wheels on the ground to allow them to stand up like this.
this killed my arm... but it was worth it! heres my final assignment, but ill post a final one after I pretty up the background with some more paper pop up props, I just wanted to talk about this really cool process for animating ^-^
will make a final video post later this week x

Bought myself a pair of skates, stex revival debut here i come‼️ But uhh first can anyone help by giving me a few tips, i got a bunch of questions… (see below lol)
-Why is quad skating so much harder than rollerblading / inlines??? I did rollerblading loads when i was younger and had no trouble with that :/
-How are you supposed to turn?!? I can go in straight line perfectly fine. I’ve read you’re supposed to lean all your body weight one way but it isn’t really working out..
-Is it normal to trip over the toestop loads? Like when i try to skate it just gets in the way (it is removable but i want to keep it on for now)
-It’s quite gravelly where i’m skating the most (not unmanageable) but the wheels i have currently are 85a, is it worth investing in 78a (or softer wheels generally)?
-What is this whole bearings system and will any kind of bearings instantly fit with my skates (abec 3)?
so I was looking into roller derby last night, right?
if you don't know, roller derby is a contact sport on rollerskates. it's crazy. it's also 90% women
roller derby players also have names and personas, kind of like drag queens or wrestlers.
which leads to shit like this
it seems like you can just Pick your own ID number (on the right) which is also great
I scrolled through this for roughly 45 minutes and I need you. to know that
they're all so good I love gay people
