Hi, this is a queued reminder. Iāll be posting these regularly because Iām tired of seeing the same hateful misinformation in the tag all the time.
- Otherkin is not a gender! Itās an identity of the self, a belief that in some way, one is nonhuman. That way can be spiritual, mental, etc.
- Otherkin donāt EVER use this identity to try to invade trans spaces, honestly. I have never seen this actually happen. Iāve seen a million and one troll blogs pretend that just being kin automatically makes you trans, though.
- We do not act like weāre oppressed. An Otherkin might face oppression for other reasons, like being a POC, or trans, but we arenāt oppressed just for being kin and we are all aware of it.
- We donāt care what you do with the things we are kin with. Plantkin donāt care if you mow your lawn, dogkin donāt think owning pets is slavery, and there is no such thing as foodkin.
- Being Otherkin is not a mental illness. Saying that is like saying Christianity is a mental illness. This belief is not harmful, please listen to actual Otherkin before you form an āopinion.ā
- Please be aware that there are many nasty trolls who spam the Otherkin tag with the intent of giving Otherkin a bad name.
