The tension between Osha and Qmir was real asf too. Haven't seen tension that good in a minute, Qmir came off amazing. The charisma was off the charts. I really enjoyed seeing Osha basically undo the years of misinformation and internalization of blame and guilt she had. Sure she went the dark side way, but in this view of the Jedi order, Osha's people were purged, nobody took accountability and instead gaslighted her about the events. She was isolated and because Jedi teachings go against those she grew up with, it was a lot of repression and fitting in that she could never live by.
Being a Jedi was inherently the antithesis to her own character. She may have wanted it as a child but I believe even in that ideal world, where she left to join them in peace she would of grown out of it. At the end of the day, we can go back and forth about what happened with the sisters, but the sisters are not authority figures. The Jedi are. They have the power to arrest people and therefore are to be held to a higher standard. A mistake of this severity cannot be allowed without justice, without accountability. Their silence was their undoing. Mae had every right to kill them all. Osha had every right to kill Sol, his attachment and borderline possession of her led to him doing everything wrong. He couldn't let go, going against Jedi teachings and leading to this mess.
It's interesting that going against the Jedi way is what got these Jedi into these situations, fear, arrogance, attachment. But it also shows them as humans capable of mistakes and even atrocities. They act as a police force and yet shouldn't Jedi be more like monks? Even when I see the other Jedi in this series they have an air of oppressive force when speaking to people, where it's cool if we saw it from a Jedi POV but not when we see it from anyone they're questioning. It's like when I watch copaganda shows and I do love me a procedural( Brooklyn Nine Nine) but I never forget what this really is in reality. It may be fun in the show but absolutely illegal and corrupt asf in real life.
Anyways, I think the second season would of shown us the dark side view of all this and again criticize that and eventuallend up that Osha doesn't choose either. She seemed very gray to me. But also just someone who lives by her own morals and rules, and usually that would be fine but Star Wars does have this restrictive sense of who can be a force user and have access to that power. It's like it comes with alliegience to something, to somebody. You can't be a free agent and if you are you're on your own.
