1st- Welcome Back! You were missed! 2nd- I really think Chris & Y/N need to be just friends. She is way too damaged, even after therapy, which she absolutely needs. And it's not just Chris who she needs to stay away from. She really needs to be by herself for a good while. Seriously get herself together before she even thinks abt getting w another guy. She's got way too many issues to be concerned abt a romantic relationship at this point. You have no idea what will set her off as it is.
ππ thank you, thank you, thank you!!
There is plenty of logic to what you've said here.
I've always disliked the word damaged so I'm going to use altered instead. She is very altered because of her past. She's been in therapy ever since getting out of that situation with her ex but healing, closure, and dealing with her issues...that's a weird thing that needs full commitment.
Commitment she couldn't give because the old book wasn't closed with her dodging social media and avoiding any footprints in case her ex picked up on it and tracked her down. All of that played a factor.
This could be a bad analogy/comparison and I hope it makes sense, but I think it fits. Imagine you've put one beautiful stilleto back on the shoe rack but lost the other one under your bed. You're afraid of what might be under there so you avoid it, hide from it, all the while knowing it's there and the desire for the other foot to have its pair to give you that complete feeling is strong but out of reach to attain.
One day you get a heavy duty, special flashlight that shows you the way to retrieving it and makes it easier. Once it is attained you remember the happy memories of the woman you were in those perfect stilettos and it's like you are renewed and complete.
I also agree she should take time to do the work to be and do better. Hopefully, in the coming chapters, it'll show more of the successes she has had throughout therapy and having the comfort of her past really being over and handled. Feeling safe can have a magical effect on who you become.
Thank you so much for reading and sending these thoughts. I appreciate it. πππ½
