‘ maybe it’d be easier if we call came with an instruction manual ’
poetry starters.
❝ —— much more easier, ❞ is what she adds on the trail of her roommate’s words, flopping a second later onto the table and in her semi-crossed arms sprawled on it, closing herself in them after. paine isn’t wrong is what she thinks, and the fact that their crumpled faces still stand like that while discussing the complexity of the human race as a whole only highlights how easy it is for them to agree on this, even if only for a moment. yuna can barely remember what had them getting so deep about except for the fact that she had come home all tense and paine had, of course, noticed – she then made her sit at the shared table and offered a sip of the alcohol they had stored away for ‘ emergencies only ’ ( which, clearly, this happened to be it — an emotional emergency in this case, still an emergency ). they had started from the completely ruined day of yuna’s, passing through the complains she had to voice about people & other problems – and now they’re here, opening up in a way they do from time to time, if only for a little while, just to show how much trust the one has put in the other.
❝ but, i guess, ❞ yuna starts again, her face raising again from the surface to be heard from the other sitting next to her, ❝ we wouldn’t enjoy getting to know one another that much, right? because we’d have everything mapped out from the start — ❞ a hand goes to press against her own forehead, sliding down to cover more of her face, as to hide from the entire world and think of a possible new one in which relationships and dynamics with one another are easy, simple like breathing. ❝ we would lose interest in each other just like that, it’d be kinda shit. ❞ she has seen it and that world sucks. ❝ fine, whatever! ❞ she’s just gonna abruptly get up and throw her hands up in the air, and then stand like that for a couple more seconds before turning on her heel and head for the couch, sinking into it and crossing her arms to her chest. she can’t have it easy — she can’t have it difficult either, uh. ❝ this sucks. ❞

Ahhh I'm so glad to see you on my dash once again! You've been sorely missed!
thank you!!! i’m glad you’re still here, sometimes i put off coming back even longer bc i don’t wanna see my dash empty and everyone gone ;-;
❝ ———- i think i started hating you yesterday, ❞ she will say this with the utmost seriousness gathered in a single individual, but there is a ninety-nine percent chance paine will a. ignore her, b. not give a single damn fuck about what she is mumbling about ( the two option often intersect and still paine would have every reason to do both, let’s admit this ); still, she pouts. hard.
@pxine ; please come collect ur baby.

❝ curious.
“So you think there could be a connection?” Paine’s hand was on her chin as she pondered the question out loud. “Between the merchandise that O’aka’s selling and the raids, that is.” Her hand went back down to her side as she turned her attention more towards the other. She’d hadn’t heard of anything like this happening before but she wasn’t exactly an expert on the area.
“How have you gathered this information? Not illegally, I hope.” There was a faint tone of sarcasm in her voice, but the general curiosity outweighed it.
“Illegally,” Rei parroted, brows rising high on his forehead. He’d have taken offense had she said it in any other way -- more like an accusation and less than a simple want to know. And he couldn’t blame her, either. Of all the fellow merchants Rei had the pleasure of dealing with (or perhaps displeasure), O’aka was one of the more... odd ones. A big name for a man constantly out of money. Rei had his suspicions. These raids she was referring to didn't do much to quiet them.
Hopping down from the ledge he’d perched himself upon, he shook his head. “It’s a rumor. And you know how those work, right? Parts of them are always right.” He gave a shrug. “It’s none of my business, but it doesn’t feel right to keep quiet. It’s only a matter of time until these rumors reach everyone, anyhow.” He marked a brief pause, eyes scanning her head to toe, before he asked, "How much do you know about these raids?"
